Carson Wentz for Janoris Jenkins and a second-round pick

The key to assessing what would be a good trade to offer for Carson Wentz is debating what the Eagles need to improve upon. There are three main areas — their secondary, their wide receivers, and their defensive line. All three will be addressed, but here we have the cornerback position.

The Saints have a plethora of talented cornerbacks. They are led by Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins. The latter was picked up off waivers by the Saints last year to replace an injured Eli Apple and ended up staying with the team long-term.

Currently, Janoris Jenkins has a $4 million hit to the Saints. If Brees retires and opens up roughly $15-25 million of cap space and Winston’s $2.8 million, this trade could bring in Wentz. Jenkins would also be a welcomed addition to the Eagles’ secondary.

They acquired Darius Slay last offseason from the Detriot Lions. Playing alongside Aven Maddox, Jenkins would be an upgrade at the position from Maddox. The Saints should also be willing because they have just as talented players who could fill in for the empty spot.
