The Saints have a Top 5 passing defense.

The Kansas City Chiefs passing offense is the best-ranked one in the entire NFL. So far this season, the Chiefs have totaled 4,127 yards in the air on offense. That averages out to be roughly 317.5 yards per game passing by Patrick Mahomes.

The New Orleans Saints, on the other hand, have the No. 4 ranked passing defense in the league. This season, they have given up 2,720 yards through the air. That averages out the Saints giving up 209.2 yards in the air per game.

This game is not only a matchup of two of the best teams in the NFL, it is a matchup of the best passing offense against one of the best passing defenses. The fact that the black and gold passing defense is playing this well is a huge reason they can win this game on Sunday.

The Chiefs work a lot of what they do through Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce. If they take away those options or at least limit them, they have a good chance at stunting the entire Chiefs’ offense in the process.
