Facing a rookie quarterback that they could have had, Sunday’s loss served as a reminder as to how the Saints have mishandled the quarterback position.

The quarterback position is easily the most important in the NFL, and Saints fans know this first-hand.

The organization’s outlook completely changed when they signed Drew Brees as a free agent. Since doing so, the team has yet to win less than seven games in a season, have won a Super Bowl, and have only finished with a negative point differential in three seasons.

However, Brees cannot play forever, and that reality may hit the Saints next season. Thus, they need to be on the lookout for a future quarterback, and hopefully, can go many more years with any fluctuations at the position.

Unfortunately, New Orleans has failed to capitalize on several opportunities to address the quarterback position, and as a result, find themselves in quite the peculiar position.

Today, let us look at every quarterback that could have been New Orleans’ starter for next season, the current options on the roster, and what the team could do in the future.

Hopefully, doing so can illustrate how the team has no one to blame for their lack of clarity under center than themselves.
