The New Orleans Saints were riding high on a nine-game win streak until a 24-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles brought them back to reality.

The good news is, although the Saints lost to the Eagles and now have three losses on the season, they will still be making the playoffs. The Saints have clinched a playoff berth, but that’s not their end goal for the regular season.

Ever since last season, they’ve craved that first-round bye as they lost in the Wild Card round.

The Saints lost to the Vikings last season and, after that nine-game win streak, were in first place in the conference. That loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14 put them in second place and in familiar territory.

The Saints have three games left to right their wrongs. While it will ultimately matter what happens in the postseason, the team should be fighting these last three weeks to get that top spot back.

With the Chiefs on the schedule and the Packers having a much weaker remaining three games, we’re going to assume the Aaron Rodgers-led side will maintain that top spot.

That said, let’s dive into three playoff scenarios that both seem likely and unfavorable for the Saints.
