Atlanta Falcons

Last Thanksgiving, the Saints served up a helping of Dirty Bird with a side of mashed Matty Ice. The image of Shy Tuttle stiff-arming Matt Ryan is a lasting holiday gift. Would the Saints be as successful again this year?

In a word – yes.

Starting our Swiss Army Knife Taysom Hill at QB was something of a surprise since Jameis Winston finished the San Francisco game after the Brees injury. But Hill got the call and he did a commendable job in his first NFL start at QB.

But this game wasn’t really at all about Hill or the offense. It was about the Who Dat defense. The Saints’ defense has been solid since we hit the second quarter of the season. They are simply improving and becoming more dominant weekly.

Against San Fran, they allowed only 49 rushing yards and had two interceptions with two sacks. Against these Falcons, they made that look like small potatoes.

They held Atlanta to 52 rushing yards and only 248 total yards while pulling down another two interceptions and sacking Ryan eight times. They also held Atlanta to zero TDs. In all, it was a nice plucking of the birds.
