Latavius Murray, RB

We will talk about Alvin Kamara in a minute, but the Saints backup running back has quietly had one of the best seasons of his career so far. Murray No. 2 in rushing yards and No. 8 in receiving yards for the black and gold.

He has rushed 126 times for 568 yards. That averages out to 4.5 yards per rush. He also adds four touchdowns to his rushing resume. One of the best things about Murray though is that he protects the football. He has one fumble on over 100 rushes.

Murray has been thriving in his rushing game. We wished all last season that the Saints would use Murray more in the run game and spell Kamara — this year, that has worked to perfection. Murray is the perfect complement to Kamara.

In terms of his receiving game, it hasn’t been as good. When the Saints need a receiving back, they go to Kamara. Murray has totaled 17 receptions for 132 yards. Murray has arguably been as high as the third-best player on the Saints this season.
