Number Two: Saints RBs vs Broncos RBs

This game on Sunday afternoon may feature the best running back matchups in the entire NFL. The Saints have a backfield that consists of MVP candidate Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray while the Broncos are packing some heat with Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay splitting carries.

The Saints’ defensive line will have to be on their “A” game if they hope to keep their streak of 53 games without allowing a 100-yard rusher alive. Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay are both having good seasons for the Broncos this year.

Gordon has run for 523 yards on 122 carries and has scored on the ground six times. Lindsay has run the ball just 73 times for 394 yards and a touchdown on the season, but most of his big plays come in the receiving game.

As for the Saints, both running backs have been balling out in 2020.

Kamara has been in MVP conversations across the league, and with Drew Brees being out, he’s stating his case even more. Kamara has recorded 1,179 yards from scrimmage with 67 receptions and 12 total touchdowns.

Murray has been the grinder in the backfield as he doesn’t get a ton of touches, but he makes the most of the carries he does get. Murray has logged 102 rush attempts, 427 rushing yards, and two touchdowns while tacking on an extra 130 receiving yards.

The running backs will play a huge role on Sunday, and some of the NFL’s best backs will be featured.
