It is never too early to look toward the offseason. The Saints have several players this year that they can’t afford to keep under the salary cap.

The New Orleans Saints currently sit at 8-2 on top of their division (NFC South) and on top of their conference (NFC). They are only two teams (Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs) behind being on top of the entire NFL.

Once again, their regular season is shaping up to be a drive to the Super Bowl. Last season, it didn’t turn out like the fans, players, or coaches would have liked. This season, it is going to be different with a deeper playoff run.

Looking past the playoffs and the Super Bowl though, we have the offseason. It is always an interesting time. The main two events that happen are NFL free agency and the NFL Draft. Let’s focus on the free agency portion.

When it comes to free agency, there are several players on the Saints currently, whose contracts are expiring and the team simply can’t afford to pay them what they are currently making or what they deserve to be making.

Here are the top three they need to let go of.
