Emmanuel Sanders

The Saints brought in Emmanuel Sanders from the 49ers this past offseason. He was added on a two-year deal and was destined to be the team’s second-best receiving option.

After missing Week 7 and 8, Sanders has played in three straight games for New Orleans. However, in the team’s Week 11 victory, he had fewer snaps than third-year receiver Tre’Quan Smith.

Smith played 45 snaps which was good for 68 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. For Sanders, who is still clearly a better receiver, he totaled just 39 snaps which was good for 59 percent of the team’s offensive snaps.

59 percent is better than his last two weeks which totaled 30 and 58 percent respectively. That said, Sanders turned the opportunity he did get into four receptions for 66 yards, his third-best performance as a Saint.

Sanders should see an uptick in snaps in Week 12 unless the Saints continue to limit him in favor of Smith.
