Jared Cook

Another tight end cracks out list. As noted before, Hill has one game in which he’s thrown more than once this season.

In that game, Jared Cook caught a pass and Adam Trautman caught a pass. Assuming Payton turns to run the ball more, we could see an uptick in two-tight end sets. Cook, Trautman, Callaway, Thomas, and Sanders are all the threats that the Saints need.

However, if Hill isn’t going to drop back and stay steady in the pocket, having three receivers run routes when Thomas can create the needed separate if Hill is going to throw short doesn’t make much sense.

Hill is going to be scrambling early and often, and the mismatch nightmare that Cook is will provide help. He’s a former two-time Pro Bowl tight end that has just one game in which he’s had over 55 yards through the air.

Cook could erupt, much like Trautman, has a favorite of Hill given his caught radius.
