Deonte Harris returns kickoff 75 yards

Setting the stage for this moment is a necessity. The Saints were in the first quarter of the game and already down 7-0. After forcing the Niners to punt on their second drive, Deonte Harris muffed the punt and the Niners recovered.

They eventually scored a field goal going up 10-0. On the ensuing kick off, Harris came back after his mistake with a vengeance. He took the kickoff from his own endzone and returned it 75 yards to the San Francisco 25 yard line.

That set the Saints up to score their first points of the game off of a Wil Lutz field goal. This is a prime example of Harris not letting the muffed punt get him down and continuing to do what he does best for the black and gold.

Last year, he was even a rookie Pro-Bowl selection for his special teams’ abilities. Those were never in question, and he silenced anyone who thought so after his mistake. It is amazing to see Harris breaking away down the field for a long return.
