Number Two: CJ Gardner-Johnson

Second-year defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson played a huge part in helping the New Orleans Saints knock off the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and he has been getting in the heads of rival receivers all season.

Late in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Gardner-Johnson left the game after making a big tackle with an arm injury.

Gardner-Johnson is a very tough defender on the much improved New Orleans defense and he seemed eager to get back in the game on Sunday.

It’s very much unknown the severity of Gardner-Johnson’s injury, but if it proves to be severe, the Saints will be losing one of their best defenders with a tough stretch of games ahead.

Gardner-Johnson has recorded 49 tackles, four tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, three passes defended, and a sack this season and he’s never missed a game in his career.

Gardner-Johnson has already matched his total tackles total from last season and he’s barely halfway through the season.
