Number One: Drew Brees

Obviously losing your starting quarterback with seven games left in the regular season is less than ideal, but seeing the pain in his eyes when he addressed the media following the game after being replaced by Jameis Winston at the half really hurts your soul as a Saints fan.

Drew Brees was diagnosed with multiple broken ribs and a collapsed lung following the game, but that didn’t stop him from still managing to toss a touchdown to Alvin Kamara before the half after executing yet another successful two-minute drive to gain an advantage on the 49ers.

Jameis Winston came in to replace Drew Brees for the second half of the game, but it was obvious he wasn’t prepared to come into the game and seemed to lack any sort of chemistry with Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Jared Cook.

Winston still managed to complete six of his ten pass attempts for 63 yards.

Brees was having an MVP-caliber season yet again, but another chapter of adversity will likely cost him the coveted reward.

The timetable for Brees to return is very optimistic right now as the injury can range anywhere from two weeks to eight weeks. Drew has always proven to be a tough player and can likely bounce back sooner, rather than later.
