The 49ers’ injuries are detrimental to their success.

It was stated earlier this week that the San Francisco 49ers were the top team in the NFL most devastated by injuries to their stars. I saw a report that said the 49ers had in the ballpark of $80 million in salary represented on the IR.

Just to name a few offensive starters — quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo; running back, Raheem Mostert; and tight end, George Kittle. They also have Brandon Aiyuk currently on the COVID-19 list sitting out last week.

However, he is projected to be back this week.

On the other side of the ball — defensive ends, Nick Bosa, Ezekiel Ansah, and Dee Ford; defensive tackle, Solomon Thomas; linebackers, Kiko Alonso and Mark Nzeocha; and cornerback, Richard Sherman. Their defense has been dismantled.

As you can tell, the 49ers have at least a dozen players on injured reserve that would otherwise be starting or at least playing significant snaps and roles. This is just another reason the Saints should roll over the Niners on Sunday.
