Adam Trautman

In the last game, Adam Trautman finally showed up. The rookie tight end hasn’t played that many snaps this year, but last Sunday he made the most of them and he is going to have to do the same thing against the Niners this week for Brees.

The 6-foot-5 tight end has had some catches here and there, but after Jared Cook missed a catch and fumbled last week, Trautman got some extra playing time. He ended with three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.

That was Trautman’s first time in the endzone this year.

For all Saints’ fans, this is a joy to see. Their third-round pick is starting to come to life. For the Saints to be successful, this is going to have to be a mainstay. The youth and quickness that Trautman showed were undeniable.

He should 100 percent be able to overtake the aging Jared Cook within the next couple of weeks. Then we will get our true look to see if Trautman can be a star. As for the upcoming game, his big frame will make a problem for the Niners.
