Jared Cook

Jared Cook is normally a huge target over the middle of the field for Drew Brees. However, in recent games, Cook has been showing more and more his age and declining ability. In the most recent game last Sunday, it really showed through.

Jared Cook only caught two passes for 13 yards. He also contributed one lost fumble on a red-zone drive. Meanwhile, his competitors, Josh Hill and Adam Trautman, combined for four receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns.

Both Josh Hill and Adam Trautman caught touchdowns while Cook, who played in under 70 percent of the snaps, had a fumble and a few receptions. The two-time All-Star is still going to play, and being a mismatch nightmare, he will get red zone looks.

Moving forward, though, it wouldn’t be shocking if blocking specialist Hill or third-round rookie Trautman start to get a bit more play since both had impressive performances this past week.

All three Saints listed could still be staples for the team come playoff time, but for now, they need to show more to stay on the field consistently.
