Number Three: Rookie of the Year

The New Orleans Saints really are only using a handful of rookies this season, but the ones on this list will be stars for seasons to come. It’s a tight race right now between 2020 first-round draft pick Cesar Ruiz, third-round pick Adam Trautman, and undrafted wide receiver Marquez Callaway.

In my opinion, the nod has to go to Marquez Callaway who has proven that he will be a great young receiver for the Saints for years to come.

Marquez Callaway, much like Deonte Harris and Alvin Kamara, is just an athlete who makes plays with the ball in his hands. Callaway, a 6-foot-2 former Tennessee Volunteer, has seemingly already replaced Tre’Quan Smith on the Saints’ depth chart.

He certainly has a bright future ahead of him.

So far in his debut season, Callaway has played in six games and has recorded 15 receptions, 136 receiving yards, seven first downs, a 78.9 catching percentage, and eight returns for 126 yards.

Callaway has done a little bit of everything for the Saints, but his breakout game came against the Carolina Panthers when he recorded eight receptions on ten targets for 75 yards while playing 73 percent of the team’s offensive snaps.

If Callaway continues to ball out, he could be the team’s best rookie.
