Number One: Marcus Williams

There is no doubt about it, New Orleans Saints free safety Marcus Williams has been more of a liability than an asset throughout the 2020 season. Williams has constantly been out of position, missed tackles, and aside from a Week 1 interception against the Buccaneers has been irrelevant in the improved Saints secondary.

With that being said, Williams is a guy the Saints absolutely need to see rise to the occasion and step up on Sunday night.

Williams plays arguably the most important position on the defensive side of the ball, and he’s not doing it well at all. Williams needs to get back to his usual self and at least help in pass coverage as the Saints will be facing a lethal receiving corps.

Marcus Williams does not have to be the best tackler on the team, but if he can stay in proper coverage and defend passes properly, it will help the Saints a great deal on Sunday night against a team who is very good at exposing opponent’s weaknesses.

Williams has always been good vs. the Bucs, accumulating 30 tackles, four interceptions, six passes defended, and one defensive touchdown. If Williams can give us a solid start on Sunday, it could do wonders for the Saints team as a whole.
