The New Orleans Saints made one trade already, and now it’s time for them to look to strengthen their offense with just hours left will the trade deadline.

2020 is the year the New Orleans Saints were finally supposed to put it together. Despite a 5-2 start to the season, many fans wouldn’t quite consider this team a contender over a pretender quite yet.

After all, while the Saints have strung together four straight victories, they’ve won all four by just one score and have also trailed in each one. The Saints have yet to have a game this season in which they haven’t trailed.

Getting out to a hot start has been a problem they’ve been able to solve against inferior opponents. The 49ers, Chiefs, and several others that’ll come up won’t be as forgiving once in the lead.

The Saints, knowing one of their issues was in the middle of the field defensively, went out and acquired former Pro Bowler Kwon Alexander.

They also need some help on their receiving corps as Michael Thomas hasn’t played since Week 1 and Emmanuel Sanders missed last week as well. Marquez Callaway, a star in the making who went undrafted in 2019, was also out.

The Saints need to add depth there before the deadline, one that is just hours away. That said, let’s dive into three trades the team should make to add to their depleted receiving corps.
