The New Orleans Saints by no means have to make a trade, but after an ugly 4-2 start, they may need to make a big-time deal to stay competitive in the NFC.

The 4-2 New Orleans Saints haven’t been overly impressive to start the season. At times, their defense and offense have both looked awful, but they’ve managed and are still going be competitive in the NFC South.

With Michael Thomas having been out since Week 1, dealing with two lingering lower-leg injuries, the Saints could use some help at receiver. Not to mention the fact that Emmanuel Sanders was placed on the Covid-19 list.

Drew Brees is now left with Tre’Quan Smith and a plethora of undrafted free agents at receiver to manage in the team’s Week 8 matchup with the Bear. That’s one of their many problems.

Another one is linebacker. While Kiko Alonso’s return should be nearing, Demario Davis has been the only one at the position to play at a high level throughout the season.

Both of those issues can be fixed at the deadline, but it would require draft capital and cap space — two things New Orleans either doesn’t have much of or won’t want to give up. That said, let’s dive into five reasonably-priced big-name players they could potentially trade for.
