Saints: 5 blockbuster trades for star Michael Thomas
The New Orleans Saints have been linked to rumors surrounding trading superstar wide receiver Michael Thomas before the deadline.
Over the course of the last couple of weeks, the news surrounding Michael Thomas has been a roller coaster. The Saints star left Week 1 with an injury. He wasn’t ready to return until Week 5 in which he was preparing to play.
That was until he decided to punch teammate Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in practice. The organization suspended him for the Week 5 contest as disciplinary action. Week 6 was their bye and he got a chance to rest.
Week 7 rolled around last week and in practice on Friday, Thomas pulled his hamstring. He added another injury to his list that kept him out of the Week 7 game, and going forward will likely keep him out of the Week 8 game as well.
Therefore, leading up to the trade deadline this year, Thomas will have a stat line of three receptions for 17 yards. After Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk first broke the speculation that the Saints might be interested in trading the injured/disgruntled star, rumors swirled.
