Number One: Brandin Cooks

The New Orleans Saints without question need some serious help at the wide receiver position this season.

The chemistry in the wide receiver room has been lacking this year ,and if the Saints hope to beat teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and the Chicago Bears, they will all need to be in sync with Drew Brees.

Brandin Cooks is currently a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, a team that has been vocal about all their wide receivers being on the trading block.

Cooks also used to play in New Orleans where he was one of the best receivers in the NFL in a high-powered Saints offense and would likely welcome a second stint in the Big Easy. Cooks, 27, has been good this season.

Through six games, Cooks has recorded 27 receptions, 367 receiving yards, 13.6 yards per reception average, 18 first downs, and two receiving touchdowns. Although he’s been good this season, his best years were when he donned the black and gold and hauled in 215 receptions, 2,861 receiving yards, and scored 21 total touchdowns in three seasons.

Cooks was a fan favorite and now that the team is competitive he could have a large impact on the team once again, especially with Michael Thomas’ injury situation and Emmanuel Sanders’ recent trip to the COVID-19 List.
