The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that should be chomping at the bits trying to pry Saints’ defensive tackle, Sheldon Rankins, away from other teams.

The Steelers need to add some youth to their aging defensive line and Rankins would provide both youth and talent to the position. One of the league’s best teams, the Steelers could enhance their already dominant defense with the addition of Rankins.

Pittsburgh has struggled to try to find a good replacement for Javon Hargrave, but Rankins could be their guy.

The Steelers may even be willing to trade as high as a second-round pick for the services of Rankins as they are currently undefeated and could be big buyers at the deadline this season.

If the Steelers are able to land Rankins, that would be great for both parties because the Steelers would be looking to stay competitive in trade offers and they would have the focal point of their defense in the feisty AFC North.
