Number One: Houston Texans

The Houston Texans would be a great destination for Sheldon Rankins who could have a huge impact on the Texans’ defense. The Texans have always had an above-average defense and adding a solid player like Rankins would only solidify their defensive line.

The Texans’ players and staff have been wanting out due to upper management decisions and the Saints could take advantage of that to benefit themselves.

The Texans could deal JJ Watt during the deadline. We just saw the Saints offer the house to try to land the services of Jadeveon Clowney prior to the start of the season, so they clearly want another dominant defensive end.

I think a reasonable trade offer to the Texans could be Sheldon Rankins and a 2021 fourth-round draft pick for JJ Watt and a Texans’ sixth-round draft pick.

The Saints would love to pick up a player like JJ Watt who always gives maximum effort to pair alongside Cameron Jordan, Trey Hendrickson, and Marcus Davenport.

Watt would also love to join a contending team like the Saints who are in full buy mode as they look to chase a ring in what is likely Drew Brees’ final season.
