Positive No. 2 – The Secondary

Last year, the secondary was a huge area of concern. In the offseason, they lost Vonn Bell and added Malcolm Jenkins. They also restructured Janoris Jenkin’s contract to keep him around for a longer period of time to play beside Marshon Lattimore.

This year, outside of penalties, the secondary has looked tremendously improved. They have been commanding the field and covering players better than they did last year. They have kept the Saints in games and won the first game single-handedly.

Negative No. 2 – Drew Brees

It is almost shocking that we have to suggest that Drew Brees be on the negatives list. However, looking at the play of Brees over the first five games of the season, he has been nothing short of a bottom league starting quarterback.

Brees has continued to show that he can’t get the ball down the field. It has become so bad that many fans are hoping that the Saints replace Brees with Winston in the coming weeks. It would be great to see the new, young, talented quarterback get to play.
