Taysom Hill

The New Orleans Saints, even at times when it seems like it hurts their offense, continue to use Taysom Hill. He’s obviously a good, versatile football player, and the clear positive is that he can do just about everything on the field.

That doesn’t mean Payton needs to use him as such. Nonetheless, Hill has been a major let down this season. Despite having a nine-yard touchdown run against the Chargers, he did little aside from that.

After having a first-round tender slapped on his unrestricted free agent tag, the Saints signed Hill to a two-year deal that will pay him more than $20 million. For a player that has under 50 passing, rushing and receiving yards this season, that figure is now seeming more and more ludicrous.

Cutting him doesn’t help much, so the team would have to look to trade him and who knows what team would find that value in Hill.

For now, it seems like he’s going to be the heir to Brees’ throne, yet at the same time, it seems difficult to see that happening if he continues to be a letdown this season.
