The New Orleans Saints are going to struggle with cap space in the future, and they may want to consider which high-priced player they could move on from.

There’s no denying the New Orleans Saints have on more than one occasion shown that they’ll do what it takes financially to win. From Drew Brees’ contracts to bringing back Malcolm Jenkins on a massive deal, the Saints have some high-priced players on their roster.

Given that the bulk of players that earn those contracts in the NFL are among the best at their position, the Saints need to figure out who they may be forced to shred as the team looks to keep players like Marshon Lattimore and Marcus Williams.

Another player that will get a new contract this offseason is Ryan Ramczyk. The Saints need to be ready to free up some cap space, and given how their season has gone so far, it shouldn’t be too difficult to trim down the roster some.

But, in order to free up cap space, it must be a specific few players that are released or traded. That said, let’s dive into five players the Saints should trade or release either now or in the future to ensure they can retain their young talent.
