New Orleans could continue to lose and win games and finish mediocrely

The Saints are currently 3-2. They have won and lost almost every other game. This path and direction would have them continuing to win and lose every other game finishing with a mediocre record of like 8-8, which could be good enough for a postseason berth.

The record would most likely not see the Saints make the playoffs. It would also not let the team have a good draft slot. This is the worst direction that the Saints could go, but with their strength of schedule, it is definitely possible.

According to reporter Mike Tripplett from ESPN, “The Saints then won five straight games following the bye week from 2009-13, including the year when Payton was suspended because of Bountygate in 2012.”

They do have this possibility, but there is a good chance that Thomas punching other players, injuries, and other downfalls will lead New Orleans to have an actual shot at a mediocre season. There are no fans out there that want this to happen.
