Number One: Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas is the kind of free safety the New Orleans Saints need on this team. Off the field drama aside, there’s no doubt that one of the best free safeties in the entire NFL is Thomas and he’s currently sitting at home.

The Saints should bring in Earl Thomas and consider running a three safety system or rotate Thomas and current free safety Marcus Williams in and out throughout the game with certain defensive packages.

The biggest thing that Thomas would bring to the Saints is his playmaking abilities and excellent tackling abilities.

The Saints need a guy opposite of Malcolm Jenkins who can tackle and make plays and Marcus Williams just isn’t cutting it this season.

Williams is arguably the worst tackler on the Saints defense which isn’t good considering he’s the last gasp of hope if the defense breaks down. Thomas and his 713 tackles in nine years would be a great addition to the needy New Orleans secondary.
