Looking ahead

So the Saints finished the first quarter of the season 2-2, one off my prediction of 3-1. No OTA’s, no preseason – we are maybe more behind than we should have been.

And like many other teams, injuries are taking a toll – it’s not only Thomas, but both cornerbacks were out in week 4 and Andrus Peat and Ryan Ramczyk are banged up on the offensive line. We are one poor loss in Las Vegas from where we should be.

But there is better news. Thomas has not been full go but has been at practice working out. We have one more game and then a bye to potentially get back to full strength with our injuries.

Next up is the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. Let’s hope our defensive front makes life tough for the rookie QB Justin Herbert. After a week off, we’ll return to welcome back our friend Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers.

Next. 5 Saints who should already be on the trading block. dark

We follow that with trips to Chicago and Tampa Bay. There isn’t much easy about this stretch.
