The New Orleans Saints, after a win against the Lions in Week 5, bounce themselves back into the top ten heading into the new week.

The New Orleans Saints started the season 2-2 in the first four weeks. It was not the most ideal start to what was supposed to be the best season we’ve seen in a while. However, they have a chance to be above .500 for the first time since Week 1.

They are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in New Orleans on Monday night — or so we thought. Rumors were that the Saints would have to move their game due to the impending hurricane that is going to hit New Orleans.

As of today though, ESPN anticipates that the game will be played Monday night as planned in Louisiana. With the Saints win again the Lions, they bounced themselves back into the Top 10 of the NFL power rankings.

Currently, they are coming in at No. 9, according to ESPN, which is a rise from No. 10 where ESPN had them last week. This is good news if you are a Saints fan because it means even with two losses that the Saints haven’t been considered out of it yet.

New Orleans is going to look to propel themselves even higher this week with a win at home over Los Angeles. The black and gold seem to be past the early season woes and are gaining quick traction with Payton’s new run-first offense.

New Orleans also looks to get Michael Thomas back this week for the first time since Week 1 which in turn as well should open up the offense in more of a balanced run-pass scheme that Payton likes to employ.

Either way, we are going to be in for a good prime-time game. Hopefully, this time around, the Saints will show the world what they actually play like instead of sitting down and rolling out as they did against the Las Vegas Raiders.
