Kwon Alexander, LB, San Francisco 49ers

We have already talked about the continued woes of the linebacking core for the Saints. Outside of Demario Davis, the black and gold have no one stepping up and playing big snaps at the position. This is where Kwon Alexander could fit in.

Alexander played for the Buccaneers from 2015-2018; then he played for the 49ers up until now. Throughout the first four games of the year, Alexander has 25 tackles (two for a loss) and one forced fumble in four starts.

Alexander could be a huge force in the middle of the field for the Saints. That would allow Demario Davis to slide outside where he plays naturally while still providing security in the middle. This is what normal linebacking cores look like.

This would then allow the Saints to play defensive packages that don’t involve playing four cornerbacks or three safety to supplement the lack of linebackers. It would vastly open up the defense for improvement all around.
