James Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

James Washington is a young receiver out of Oklahoma State. The age of Washington would be beneficial to the Saints because they could transition him into the player they always hoped Tre’Quan Smith would turn out to be.

Washington is only going into his third NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He hasn’t been the primary receiver playing behind Juju Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson. They also drafted Chase Claypool who is making waves on the depth chart.

Because of that, Washington has almost become expendable to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Throughout his first two seasons, he had 16 and 44 receptions respectively. He also totaled 952 yards and four touchdowns.

This season, he is already off to one of his best yet. Through four games, Washington has seen 15 targets and pulled in 10 of them for 92 yards and a touchdown. If he keeps that up, he will finish the year with 40 receptions for 368 yards and four touchdowns.

The Saints could use a receiver with those numbers, especially with Thomas down.
