The New Orleans Saints can match their entire 2019 loss number with a defeat on Sunday. That’s why, although early, their game against Detroit is a must-win.

This is going to be a tough week for the New Orleans Saints as they’re set to take on the Detroit Lions. There’s no way around this being one of the Saints’ toughest matchups of the season, and it’s not because of the Lions.

The Lions aren’t that good. They really aren’t, but the Saints are going to be very injured heading into this matchup. That, and they’re riding a two-game losing streak, so who knows where the morale of the team is at.

Drew Brees is coming off arguably his best performance of the season. Despite it being a loss, Brees was able to find his weapons, most notably Alvin Kamara. Kamara had a huge day against the Packers, and they still found a way to defeat New Orleans.

The Saints other loss was to Darren Waller and the Raiders. With only one win, the Saints’ playoff chances aren’t over if they do, in fact, lose, but they’ll be on a bad crash course with history, especially with a team as banged up as this one.

With the Chiefs, 49ers, and Bucs on the schedule, New Orleans will be entering the worst parts of their schedule 1-3. Despite forcing their third and fourth-string cornerbacks to step up, the Saints must find a way to win.

Cesar Ruiz, Nick Easton, and Adam Trautman should all be able to become forces offensively. Trey Hendrickson has also shown some promise on the line. The concern should be Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. They’ll eat Patrick Robinson and PJ Williams alive.

Next. 5 Saints who should already be on the trading block. dark

No matter how you put it, this is going to be a tough game, but New Orleans has shown resilience before. They must again, and as one of the easier games entering the season, this will turn into a must-win outing.
