LB, Demario Davis

Demario Davis had an odd thing happen to him at the end of last year. Davis was selected to be a first-team All-Pro player, but he did not secure a Pro-Bowl spot. This phenomenon has happened only a handful of times in the last couple of years. This year, he is out for that Pro-Bowl.

Demario Davis has been the face, hands, and feet of the middle of the field for the Saints lately. Through the first three games, Davis is second on the team in tackles (21) behind only safety Malcolm Jenkins (22).

Davis has also secured two sacks for 20 yards. Oddly enough, he is tied with Trey Hendrickson for the most sacks on the Saints as well. To go along with those, Davis also has one pass defended and three tackles for a loss.

More importantly than physical statistics, Davis has leadership about him on the field. He is truly making himself the player to be known on the defense. The guys like him and listen to him. For this reason, Davis is a front-runner for a Pro-Bowl spot he didn’t get last year.
