Tre’Quan Smith

Tre’Quan Smith has played well enough to have some trade value. He’s been without Michael Thomas for the past two weeks, and in those two performances, both losses for the Saints, he’s averaged 64 yards.

Smith has had a few absolutely dominant performance while with the Saints, but, at large, he needs to be better. While he’s starting to cement himself as a target for Brees, there’s no telling what his role will be like once Thomas gets back into the mix.

The third-year receiver had just one reception in the team’s Week 1 victory. Almost 100 yards in Week 2, Smith has a solid outing. He wasn’t there while playing 100% of the snaps against the Packers.

The Saints would value Smith more than any other team in the NFL, so getting a reasonable value for him is something they likely wouldn’t be able to do.

He has potential, but Smith, in the Big Easy, doesn’t have the star upside they hoped he’d show as the third-string receiver behind Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

If Smith can continue his production, he has a better chance of solidifying a good spot on the roster than he does at being dealt.
