Kaden Elliss

Coming into the season, Kaden Ellis, Demario Davis and Alex Anzalone were supposed to be the three starting linebackers. Well, the Saints have opted to play more three safety formations with DJ Swearinger getting snaps.

Ellis is a special teamer that does have value there, but he’s played in just five defensive snaps. The Saints have really been using two-linebacker sets, and it’s crushing any playing time for Elliss or rookie third-round draft pick Zack Baun.

If the Saints aren’t going to use Elliss and have a healthy Baun behind him, they may as well offer him up to other teams. The team’s 2019 seventh-round pick played in just three games last season, so he’s looking to redeem himself.

Sadly, he hasn’t done much to help a pitiful Saints defense. Giving up over 70 points in the last two weeks, 34 to Las Vegas and 37 to Green Bay, allowing Elliss and more three-linebacker sets a shot to stop opponents could be ideal for New Orleans.
