In what was supposed to be one of the best seasons in Saints’ history, three weeks in and the team has almost as many losses as it did all last year.

The New Orleans Saints were primed this year. They seemed to plug all the holes that anyone could have seen from last year’s 13-3 season. They added Emmanuel Sanders, Malcolm Jenkins, and re-structured Janoris Jenkins.

They drafted Cesar Ruiz, Adam Trautman, and Zack Baun. Analysts called this year’s Saints squad the most complete roster in all of football. Now, the tides have turned, and the black and gold find themselves headed into Week 4 with a losing record.

What went wrong? Where did the front office mess up? Are injuries to blame? What needs to change? These are all questions that Saints’ fans have begun asking themselves. The biggest one of all though is, “Should we start to worry yet?”

The short answer to that is no. Here is why.

This is more of a reality check than a foreshadowing of the season for the Saints. They played the Buccaneers and the Packers in two of those games which are two NFC teams projected to make the playoffs.

There is new personnel, and they are playing without the preparation of a preseason. Oh, and injuries have once again come to the team. Superstar receiver Michael Thomas has found him missing what could be three of the first four games.

If there is one thing New Orleans knows how to do — it is fight. I projected them to lose three games this season. Neither of the ones they have lost has been ones that I projected, but I firmly stand by that there is no reason to worry until they get to loss No. 4.

Until then, saddle up Who Dat Nation because you are in for a wild ride this season. One that will hopefully end in the Saints seeing another Lombardi trophy coming home to the Big Easy and enshrining the Saints’ Hall of Fame.
