Sheldon Rankins

Sheldon Rankins is one of the best defensive tackles in the entire NFL. However, he has only yet to play 61% of snaps in Week 1 and 59% of snaps in Week 2. Sheldon Rankins’s stats have shown his lack of play in the first two weeks.

He has yet to record a sack, and he has only had one tackle in two weeks. Either he is just not playing well or not getting the snaps to get anything going. The latter would make the more sense if he is barely playing 50% of snaps.

There is no reason for the Saints to pay Rankins what they are paying him going forward if they are only going to let him have this many snaps. Right now, David Onyemata is outplaying and out-snapping him.

This will be a trend worth keeping an eye on.

Whatever the case may be, the Saints need to get some more snaps for Rankins. He should at least be above 70%. He is yet to hit that number, but if they are going to justify paying him this offseason; they need to give him the snaps.
