This week, it was apparent that the New Orleans Saints might need some help at the wide receiver position again — even with Michael Thomas healthy.

The New Orleans Saints had a dominant Week 1 win against their NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Week 2, however, turned out not to be what many fans expected it to be in a prime-time loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Currently evaluating the team’s needs, the Saints are in need of a receiver. Especially with Michael Thomas continuing to be sidelined, the receiving core is not going to cut it.

I will give Emmanuel Sanders a couple more weeks before I all out give up on his production, and to be fair, it’s not all on Sanders as Brees certainly hasn’t made finding him a priority within the offense.

He wasn’t breaking routes as he did in San Francisco, and his speed didn’t seem to be there.

Either that or Drew Brees really just couldn’t hit him to save his life. I still think the Saints need to invest in another wide receiver to compete with Sanders for No. 2. Smith did look solid on Monday night so he may get more snaps as well.

Some of these players would greatly impact the season for the Saints which has started off 1-1. I even wouldn’t be opposed to dealing Sanders and Tre’Quan Smith in any of these trades. After Week 2, here are five performing receivers the Saints could target.
