Number Three: Michael Thomas’ importance

I strongly believe the New Orleans Saints did not realize how much they needed Michael Thomas until now.

Michael Thomas is the best wide receiver in the NFL and his absence from Monday night’s game goes to show why he received some votes for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player last season and won Offensive Player of the Year.

Thomas is probably the most valuable player the Saints have and you could tell based on how dull the offense was without him. Alvin Kamara stepped up and garnered up 174 all-purpose yards and two scores in his absence but that was about all that went well offensively.

Once Thomas returns, the team should look good again but it is extremely concerning that Emmanuel Sanders didn’t really step up like we thought he would but nobody can question how important Michael Thomas is to the New Orleans Saints.
