Winners

Let’s start this off on a positive.

Alvin Kamara

13 carries for 79 yards was impressive. He had a 6.1 yards per carry average and put the ball in the endzone twice. His 21-yard rush was the longest of the game, another positive for the recently-extended Kamara.

Per usual, Kamara was heavily involved in the passing game, recording nine receptions on nine targets, catching everything thrown his way. He went for 95 yards in the air and ended the game with over 150 all-purpose yards.

He was the only real shining light for the Saints offense.

Tre’Quan Smith

Tre’Quan Smith had a good game. That made him a winner by itself. Smith, who had been an afterthought by everyone that doesn’t closely follow the Saints, had the second-most yards on the team.

He ended with five receptions for 86 yards on a mere seven targets. Smith was the go-to receiving options for Brees as Michael Thomas missed the game due to a high-ankle sprain. For Smith, it was a breakout performance, but some is better than none.
