They have elite weapons even without Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas has missed one game in his four-year NFL career. Dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Thomas is set to miss Monday night, and although he felt “fantastic” earlier this week, he’s still expected to miss at least a few more weeks.

The team will survive without him, much like they did when Drew Brees missed five at the start of the 2019 season. It won’t be easy, but the Saints have the talent on their roster that can step up in Thomas’ absence.

Three-time Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara, who found the endzone twice last Sunday, will have a huge role in the offense. Also, Emmanuel Sanders, who was the 49ers’ No. 1 receiver for the bulk of last season, will step up as Brees’ go-to option.

It will be interesting how Brees distributes the targets, but Sanders and Kamara will be the two major factors for the Saints offense. Those two and then Jared Cook in the endzone will still create a dangerous offense.

That should be enough for the Saints to thrive in Vegas.
