Chad Thomas

Chad Thomas has not been the typical outstanding defensive lineman — especially when you are talking about a team with Myles Garrett who would typically take 15.0 sacks per season. However, Thomas is definitely someone that should be added.

Currently, Thomas was the most surprising cut from the Cleveland Browns organization. He has yet to be signed back to their practice squad or by any other team. For that reason, the Saints should make their move.

Thomas is a young, versatile player that would fit in well to the Saints’ defense. In his rookie season, Thomas did start a single game and only played sparingly in four games. In 2019, Thomas played in all 16 games.

Among those 16 games, he started eight of them and even recorded 4.0 sacks in those games. That shows you right there that Thomas has what it takes to be an NFL lineman. He just needs to be given the opportunity.

For now, Thomas would only be a sign to the Saints practice squad as insurance until another lineman gets injured.
