The Saints’ special teams is ranked No. in the NFL.

I tried to stick with PFF rankings to keep them consistent, but they don’t have a special teams rankings. According to Lineup, another ranking site like PFF, the Saints have the No. 3 ranked special teams unit in the NFL.

Wil Lutz was one of the best and most consistent kickers in football last year. Thomas Morestead was a top ten punter as well in the NFL. Deonte Harris, a rookie, made the Pro Bowl for the NFC due to his return skills.

New Orleans is only behind the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs and the surprising Cincinnati Bengals. I would take the Saints to finish even higher than projected — maybe even the top unit in the NFL.

With the offense and special teams ranked inside the top five and the defense ranked inside of the top ten, the Saints are in for a promising year. The goal for the season is a Super Bowl and anything less would be a disappointment for this team.
