Number Two: Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday and is now in search of a new place to call home. That place to call home would be much easier if his hometown team, the New Orleans Saints, came calling and wanted to invest in his services.

I know it will likely be a pretty pay check to get Leonard Fournette in town, but I don’t think it will actually be as much as people assume. The Saints will only need him for one season as they look to extend Alvin Kamara, and while Fournette has been successful, he still has yet to play a full 16 games in a season.

Despite never playing a full season, Fournette has logged some pretty impressive numbers throughout his first three seasons in the NFL.

In his career, Fournette has logged 666 rush attempts, 2,631 rushing yards, 4.0 yards per carry, and 17 rushing touchdowns. Fournette has also logged 134 receptions, for 1,009 receiving yards, a 7.5 yards per reception average, and two receiving touchdowns.

The New Orleans native went to LSU and was a first round pick by the Jaguars in the same draft the Saints took Kamara. Fournette has plenty of potential and a stint with his hometown team could suit him well.
