Alvin Kamara returning to Pro Bowl form

Having missed the three last practices, Alvin Kamara may not be 100 percent after the team’s running back coach said he was.

Playing most of the 2019 season far under 100 percent, the Saints need a fully healthy Kamara. Thankfully, even Kamara sub-100 percent is still better than the bulk of other team’s starting running backs.

Kamara, a three-time Pro Bowler, is that good. He’s one of the most elusive backs in the league and has averaged over 1,400 all-purpose yards since entering the league in 2017.

Last season was his first missing 1,500 all-purpose yards, but it was his touchdowns that took the most notable hit. He went from 18 down to 6 as Kamara’s Week 6 injury obviously linger throughout the bulk of the season. Kamara missed two games in 2019.

They need Kamara to be at his best. Although Latavius Murray proved to be a valuable backup last season, the backfield will ideally be run by Kamara with touches of Murray, not the other way around.

Kamara’s form, health, and involvement will be a huge key for the Saints’ success in 2020.
