The Secondary

Out of the major groups on both sides of the ball, it seems the secondary is the group that needs to step up their game the most. From last year, they kept Marshon Lattimore and Marcus Williams. They restructured Janoris Jenkins as well.

They lost Vonn Bell, but they brought back Malcolm Jenkins, a former Saint. With Janoris Jenkins only being here for one regular season and one playoff game, he even is not fully emerged into the Saints scheme yet.

I understand Malcolm Jenkins was here before, but things have changed. This group has had the biggest turnover of any other group on the Saints. Because of that, they are going to take longer to gain chemistry together to be a top secondary.

While this is an improvement that we need to see out of these four, there is a bright side. They have enough talent at each of their positions that they could be a top-five secondary if they learn how to play to each other’s strengths.
