Going into another week of camp inching closer to the start of the season, there are things that we need to see from the Saints before said start which is under three weeks away.

The New Orleans Saints now have a couple of weeks behind them in training camp. Without a preseason to judge the new and returning players and how they have progressed or regressed, we are stuck with evaluating the performances in training camp.

The only problem with that is training camp gives you little game action to tell in players are ready or not. Sure you can see how they perform in drills, but they are NFL players — every one of them should be able to catch a football and run.

Let’s just hope that they react the same way on the field in week one that they do in training camp now. I would have loved to have preseason games to break down the clear standouts and dropouts of the time before the season, but we can’t.

Even if we don’t like it, this is the way it has to be. We have already discussed the surprise and lackluster standouts from the first couple of weeks and the first real week in pads for the Saints. Now, here are three improvements we need to see next week.
