Deatrick Nichols

“It was truly a blessing to get a call from the New Orleans Saints,” Deatrick Nichols said after joining the Saints. Sadly, his time with the team didn’t last long, and a preseason may have been able to help him.

Nichols led the XFL in interceptions while playing with the Houston Roughnecks. The Saints cut him along with Krishawn Hogan, two players that could’ve made a name for themselves this weekend had the preseason been possible.

Nichols has the potential to be a star in the NFL, but the Saints didn’t believe that as they released him before he saw the field in an actual game. Nichols was quickly picked up by the Miami Dolphins.

The Saints aren’t overly deep at cornerback, and having seen Nichols may have changed his fate in the Big Easy.
